Ashley Ramsey

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ashley Ramsey, LCSW, is a compassionate and experienced therapist dedicated to helping teens and adults navigate life’s emotional challenges with strength and clarity. She understands how difficult it can be to reach out for support—especially when anxiety, trauma, or self-doubt have been part of your story for a long time. Ashley creates a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to be honest, vulnerable, and real. Her approach is collaborative and empowering, always tailored to each individual’s pace and personal goals.

Ashley specializes in working with clients who are living with the effects of childhood trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm. Many of her clients come to her struggling with self-esteem, body image issues, disordered eating, and self-harming behaviors. She also works with individuals navigating ADHD, burnout, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). No matter the concern, Ashley brings a calm and grounded presence to the therapy room, helping clients make sense of their experiences and build healthier patterns for the future.

Drawing from evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices, Ashley helps her clients develop skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healing from trauma. She also incorporates expressive techniques like Sandtray Therapy, which can be especially powerful for teens or those who process emotions in non-verbal ways. Every session is guided by Ashley’s trauma-informed lens and belief that healing begins with trust, safety, and genuine connection.

Ashley is passionate about creating inclusive spaces for all people, with a special emphasis on LGBTQ+ affirmative care. She welcomes clients from diverse racial, cultural, and neurodivergent backgrounds, and she works thoughtfully to honor the unique stories, strengths, and identities of those she serves.

Ashley earned her Master of Social Work from North Carolina Central University and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-I), currently working toward her advanced certification (CCTP-II). With over eight years of experience in community mental health, school-based services, and private practice, she brings both clinical expertise and deep empathy to her work.

Outside of therapy, Ashley enjoys painting, gardening, crafting, and reading. She finds joy in creative expression and loves spending time with her family and her dog, Bella. Her grounded, approachable nature shines through in everything she does—and it’s part of what makes clients feel so comfortable working with her.

Ashley believes that even when life feels messy or uncertain, healing is possible. She is here to help clients move forward with courage, clarity, and connection.
